Ozma of Oz (1907)

This first edition hardback printing of L. Frank Baum’s classic 1907 Ozma of Oz is the third book in the Oz series and it tells the story of Dorothy’s return to Oz after she was swept into the sea during a trip with her Uncle Henry.

Baum’s third installment reunites Dorothy with her pals the Tin Woodman, the Cowardly Lion and of course the Scarecrow and also introduces a variety of new characters into the storyline.

Richly illustrated by Jno R. Neill — an archaic abbreviation of ‘John’ — this book retains the rich colors of its century-plus cover plate thanks to a dustcover that came with it back in 1907.

The color dustcover was badly torn and worn over the past 119-years, but it did its job in protecting the actual cover and the dust-cover is included with the purchase of this book.

Published by The Reilly & Lee Co. (Chicago), this book includes the hand-written name, in pencil on the opening page, of the first child this book was given to early in the 20th Century.

Condition: Very Good (the original dustcover is badly damaged, as noted, but is included with purchase)
